Short answer
The only effective cataract treatment is surgery — phacoemulsification removes the clouded lens and replaces it with an IOL. Glasses help early refractive shifts but cannot clear advanced clouding. No drops reverse cataracts. IOL type (monofocal, trifocal, or EDOF) determines whether you need reading glasses after.

What about posterior capsule opacification (PCO)?
About 20–30% of patients develop PCO months or years after surgery — a quick YAG laser capsulotomy clears it in minutes. It is not the cataract returning.
